Learning and teaching at UniSC

At UniSC, learning is flexible, engaging, inclusive and future-ready. In short, it’s transformative.

We celebrate our students their diverse backgrounds, life stages and chosen pathways. We know our program structures needs to support their different ways of learning and different lifestyles.

Some students may need longer to balance study with work, family, or other commitments. Others may wish to accelerate their studies.

Our revitalised teaching and learning model makes space for all possibilities.

Students get to experience a rich mix of learning and teaching there is flexibility in modes including online learning materials and classes to practical seminars and workshops, and some flexibility in study availabilities, supported by educators and educational technologies.

By moving beyond traditional lecture‑style delivery, we’ve created interactive learning environments where students collaborate, explore, and apply concepts in meaningful and relevant ways.

Assessments are designed at the program level to develop real-world capabilities and confidence, and assure learning and achievement.

Transformative learning – our philosophy

Transformative learning happens when students explore ideas, build skills and put learning into action – applying them to real‑world challenges.

As they put their learning into practice, students reshape how they see themselves, their disciplines, and the careers and communities they contribute to now and into the future.

Our revitalised Curriculum Design Framework (CDF) puts our students first, and values the vital role of our educators.

It creates dynamic teaching experiences. It strengthens learning assurance in our programs and courses. It deepens connections between students, educators, technologies and industry.

At its heart, the framework celebrates the idea that it takes all of us – working together across the university – to support every graduate and spark lifelong learning.
